# What hosting earns

When your machine is rented, the renter pays your hourly price, exactly as listed. Nusa's platform fee is taken from what you earn, and the rest is your Earnings.

## The platform fee

* **The fee is 25% of each rental**, taken from your earnings, not added to what the renter pays.
* **It applies during Beta too.**
* **The rate is the one in force when the rental was confirmed.**
* **Every earnings figure you see is what you keep**, after the fee.

What you earn from a rental doesn't depend on where the renter's Credit came from.

### Example

Your machine is rented for 4 hours at 1.00 USD an hour. The renter pays 4.00 USD. You keep 3.00 USD, which is Pending for 7 days and then Available.

## Pending and Available earnings

New earnings are **Pending** for 7 days from when the rental ends, then they become **Available**. You can see when each Pending earning becomes Available.

Only Available earnings can be moved into Credit, or withdrawn once withdrawing opens (see [Withdrawing](broken://pages/f7850a785927d10275370d8070c174e0212536c6)).

## Your Earnings

Your Earnings page shows your total earnings across all your machines, including ones you've removed, how much each machine earned, and how much is Available now.

## Moving earnings into Credit

To rent with what you've earned, move Available earnings into Credit, any amount up to what's Available. **This can't be undone**: Credit never turns back into Earnings.

## Interrupted rentals

If a rental on your machine ends unexpectedly, you aren't paid for it for now, and a review decides whether you are. See [Refunds](file:///6919936/renting/refunds.md#for-hosts).

## Estimates

Nusa's hosting page on the website shows an example estimate of what a machine might earn, as a range, after the fee. Actual earnings depend on how much renters want that hardware.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://docs.nusa.nissology.ai/credit-and-earnings/what-hosting-earns.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
