# FAQ

## General

<details>

<summary>What is Nusa?</summary>

A marketplace for GPU compute. People host their computers on Nusa, and anyone can rent one by the hour to run an AI model. See [Welcome](/welcome.md).

</details>

<details>

<summary>Do I need an account to look around?</summary>

No. You can browse models and machines and see what a rental would cost without signing in. Nusa asks you to sign in when you pay for a rental, send a message in the trial on Overview, or request a setup key to host.

</details>

<details>

<summary>Do I need separate accounts to rent and to host?</summary>

No. One account does both. See [Your account](/getting-started/your-account.md).

</details>

<details>

<summary>What currency does Nusa use?</summary>

US dollars (USD), for Credit, prices and earnings.

</details>

<details>

<summary>My account says it's under review. What can I do?</summary>

You can still sign in and look around, but you can't rent, use the trial on Overview, or list a machine, and your machines are taken off the market. [Contact Nusa support](mailto:support@nissology.ai). See [Your account](/getting-started/your-account.md#if-your-account-is-under-review).

</details>

## Renting

<details>

<summary>I have no Credit. How do I rent?</summary>

New accounts start with no Credit, and topping up isn't open yet. [Contact Nusa support](mailto:support@nissology.ai) and ask for Credit. See [Credit](/credit-and-earnings/credit.md).

</details>

<details>

<summary>How do I rent a model?</summary>

{% stepper %}
{% step %}
Choose a model on the Models page.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}
Choose a machine. If one is marked Recommended, it's chosen for you.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}
Enter how many days and hours you want.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}
Check the rental at checkout, and pay.
{% endstep %}
{% endstepper %}

See [Renting a model](/renting/renting-a-model.md).

</details>

<details>

<summary>How long can I rent a machine for?</summary>

At least one hour, charged in whole hours. During Beta, a rental can be up to 7 days. A rental can't be extended; rent again when it ends.

</details>

<details>

<summary>What happens if the machine goes offline during my rental?</summary>

If it doesn't come back, the rental ends and you're refunded in full to your Credit. See [Refunds](/renting/refunds.md).

</details>

<details>

<summary>Do I get money back if I end a rental early?</summary>

No. The time left on a rental you end yourself isn't refunded. See [Ending a rental](/renting/ending-a-rental.md#ending-a-rental-early).

</details>

<details>

<summary>Can I use the model from my own code?</summary>

Yes. Each rental gives you a base URL, a key and an example call. The key stops working when the rental ends.

</details>

<details>

<summary>Does Nusa keep what I type in the trial?</summary>

No. Nusa doesn't keep what you type in the trial on Overview, or the answers.

</details>

## Credit

<details>

<summary>Will Credit Nusa gave me be taken back when Beta ends?</summary>

No.

</details>

<details>

<summary>Can I withdraw my Credit or send it to someone?</summary>

No. Credit can only be spent on rentals on Nusa.

</details>

<details>

<summary>My trial on Overview stopped. Can I use Credit to keep chatting?</summary>

No. The trial has its own allowance, separate from Credit, and it stops when the allowance is used up. To keep going, rent a machine.

</details>

## Hosting

<details>

<summary>What hardware do I need to host?</summary>

A Linux computer with an NVIDIA GPU, or an Apple silicon Mac. Windows isn't supported yet; you can join the waitlist. See [What hardware can host](/hosting/hosting-on-nusa.md#what-hardware-can-host).

</details>

<details>

<summary>Can renters see my files or run their own code?</summary>

No. Renters use your machine only through Nusa's engine, with the models Nusa provides, and the engine is kept apart from your files. See [Hosting on Nusa](/hosting/hosting-on-nusa.md#what-renters-can-and-cant-do-on-your-machine).

</details>

<details>

<summary>What does Nusa take from what I earn?</summary>

A platform fee of 25% of each rental, taken from your earnings, during Beta too. Renters pay exactly your listed price. See [What hosting earns](/credit-and-earnings/what-hosting-earns.md).

</details>

<details>

<summary>When can I withdraw my earnings?</summary>

Not during Beta. See [Withdrawing](/credit-and-earnings/withdrawing.md).

</details>

<details>

<summary>I need my computer back. What should I do?</summary>

Pause rentals from your machine's page. A rental under way finishes first, and pausing never lowers your reliability score. Don't just quit Nusa Node during a rental: that ends the rental and you aren't paid for it. See [Pausing rentals](/hosting/pausing-rentals.md).

</details>

<details>

<summary>What affects my reliability score?</summary>

Staying connected while rented, rentals not ending because your machine went offline, your network speed, and leaving the machine to the renter while it's rented. See [Your reliability score](/hosting/hosting-on-nusa.md#your-reliability-score).

</details>

<details>

<summary>Why is my machine Not listed?</summary>

The machine's page says why, and what to do. A paused machine is listed again when you resume it or the time you chose runs out.

</details>

<details>

<summary>What emails do I get if my machine goes offline?</summary>

See [The emails you get](/hosting/pausing-rentals.md#the-emails-you-get).

</details>

<details>

<summary>A rental on my machine was interrupted. Will I be paid?</summary>

Not for now. A review decides whether you're paid. See [Refunds: for hosts](/renting/refunds.md#for-hosts).

</details>

## Invitations

<details>

<summary>Does inviting people earn me anything?</summary>

Not at the moment. You can see how many people joined through your link and how many of them have rented.

</details>

<details>

<summary>I signed up without my friend's invitation code. Can I add it?</summary>

Yes, from your Profile, within 7 days of creating your account, as long as you haven't rented yet. See [Joining through an invitation](/getting-started/your-account.md#joining-through-an-invitation).

# Agent Instructions
This documentation is published with GitBook. GitBook is the documentation platform designed so that both humans and AI agents can read, navigate, and reason over technical content effectively. Learn more at gitbook.com.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://docs.nusa.nissology.ai/getting-started/faq.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
